Agatha Christie Eleven Missing Days brings one of literary history’s most baffling mysteries back into the spotlight, exploring the baffling disappearance that left the world searching for answers. 

According to Deadline, two-time Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything and Train Dreams) will play the role of legendary suspense thriller writer Agatha Christie. Other cast members include Nicole Elizabeth Berger (He’s Watching You), Oliver Trevena (The Gorge), Ryan McParland (Say Nothing), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Ben Hardy (The Conjuring: Last Rites), and Stacy Martin (The Brutalist). 

Bertie Ellwood will be directing from a screenplay by Ernesto Foronda, directly based on the book Agatha Christie and Eleven Missing Days, authored by Christie scholar Jared Cade. Range Select has the US distribution rights. Reports added that Fortitude International introduced the film to the buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Producers of the film include Tatiana Kelly from Serena Films, Jim Young from Animus Films, Lucas Jarach from Green Light Pictures, Nadine de Barros from Fortitude International, Joshua Harris from Peachtree Media Partners, and James Cinningham from Object & Animal.

Plot details of Eleven Missing Days

The official synopsis of the film states that in December 1926, Agatha Christie went missing under unknown circumstances from her home. The film is an investigative exploration of her missing case and what led to her mysterious disappearance. Vincent Cassel will play the role of the investigator.

Was anyone involved in the case, or did she herself go somewhere for some time? Her disappearance made national and international headlines and captured public attention, including that of politicians and fellow writers as well. Arthur Conan Doyle was also drawn into the investigation.

Several people speculated that it could be due to a car crash or the result of some kind of trauma and depression, but no clear details have been revealed as of today.

Christie herself never opened up to what actually happened during those eleven days. The speculations kept rising, giving way to fictional interpretations.
