Comics fans have always drooled over watching their iconic superheroes in live-action films on screens. Marvel and DC Studios bring you two separate timelines for their distinct projects.
It should be noted that after James Gunn and Peter Safran took the reins of DC Studios, they have rebooted the franchise and kept Elseworld projects, like Matt Reeves’ The Batman II, separate.
Movie Insiderz brings you watch-order guides for Marvel DC Star Wars for 2025 and 2026 in chronological order so that you can mark your calendars for your favorite films.
Watch-order guides for Marvel DC Star Wars
MARVEL’s Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025)
Although Captain America: Brave New World did not gain much appreciation from the critics and the audience, the film was released with great hype for Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie), the new Captain America.
The film focused on his troubles due to an international incident and his meeting with the newly elected US President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), after which he needed to discover the purpose behind an evil global plan.
MARVEL’s Thunderbolts* (May 2, 2025)
A team of imperfect superheroes is set on a mission that was actually a deathtrap for all of them, set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (played by Louis-Dreyfus). Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ava Starr (Hannah John-Kamen), and Bob/Sentry (Lewis Pullman) had to do something to get out of their trap at OXE base.
They needed to stop Valentina from using Bob and transforming him into a devilish Sentry with extreme dark powers. They needed to trust each other and face their pasts to work together and get a way out of there.
Marvel wasn’t able to impress much with Thunderbolts*, either, compared to DC Studios, which has received praise for Superman (2025) all over the globe. Why Marvel is still struggling with its movies and whether Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be able to break this trend remains a question mark.
DC’s Superman (July 11, 2025)
David Corenswet is the new Superman for James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe (DCU), who wears the red cape with grace and might. The tech billionaire, Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult), does not want people to love Superman and uses his Kryptonian parents’ message against him.
Superman, who is Clark Kent, working at the Daily Planet, wants Luthor to realize that he is as human as all of them. With his three work colleagues of the Justice Gang, Green Lantern, Mister Terrific, and Hawk Girl, Superman defeats Luthor and his metahumans.
MARVEL’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025)
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is recently released with Sue Storm (played by Sue Storm) and Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), expecting a baby. The literal name of the film indicates the same meaning.
However, the danger looms when Galactus’s message is brought to Earth by the Silver Surfer (played by Julia Garner), his enigmatic Herald, who certifies the doom of their planet.
MARVEL’s Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026)
Marvel certainly gives competition to DC Studios when it comes to bold marketing strategy. Marvel revealed its cast for Avengers: Doomsday in a five-hour-plus live stream that revealed 27 cast members.
Some of the prominent names include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Robert Downey Jr. as the emblematic villain, Victor von Doom. Also, certain cast members are still unannounced, which Marvel plans to reveal later.
The plot details of Avengers: Doomsday are not unveiled, but with such a dynamic cast revealed, we hope it is going to be huge!
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22, 2026)

The cast includes Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Jonny Coyne as Imperial Warlord, and Sigourney Weaver.
MARVEL’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026)
Just a few days ago, a new Spidey ensemble was showcased. Marvel is planning on another hype-building marketing strategy with its “big 3” consisting of Hulk, Punisher, and the Spider-suit reveal for its upcoming Spider-Man 4 or Brand New Day.
An official synopsis has just been released, taking Spider-Man in new directions. Marvel’s triple reveal might be a comeback against DC Studios, as Superman’s hype-building strategy worked quite brilliantly.
It will be exciting to watch the dynamics of all these characters with Spider-Man and how his classic suit reveal, which has less of modernism and more of a true comic feel attached, will work out for the film. And of course, Sadie Sink is in the cast of Spider-Man 4 as well, but her role remains unknown to date.
DC’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (June 26, 2026)
After teasing Supergirl at the end of Superman (2025) with her crazy appearance and even crazier dog Krpto, James Gunn is to present Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in 2026. No official plot details are known yet, except that it will be a darker version of Kara Zor-El and her origin.
Milly Alcock played Supergirl in her cameo appearance at the end of Superman (2025). It serves as a setup for the upcoming DC project, directed by Craig Gillespie.
DC’s Clayface (2026)
Clayface is getting a DCU debut– yes! It will have a confirmed DCU canon status, as Clayface is one of Batman’s oldest foes. Gunn verified that it will be an origin story.
Tom Rhys Harries will be playing Clayface, and it will be a body horror film- definitely R-rated for the said purpose. Plot details are not known yet, but it will be a fascinating watch as the villain is getting a first-time screen appearance.
MARVEL’s Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027)
Avengers: Secret Wars is the highly anticipated sequel to Avengers: Doomsday, whose expected release date is December 2027. Official details are scarce, as some major film releases have forced Marvel to rethink its release dates and pushed the film to farther dates.
Several other film projects by DC Studios have been announced, but don’t have an official release date.
- Batman: The Brave and the Bold (TBA)
- Swamp Thing (TBA)
- The Authority (TBA)
